Mr Locust
Putting together my 02 roadsport kit. Should the 'screw' part of the noscone dzus fasteners on the lower (behind the numberplate) brackets be on the fibreglass or the brackets? Mine are on the brackets and it looks wrong .............but I thought it best to canvass opinion before significant bracket bending and rivet drilling..... captain chaos
I take it we're talking about the lower nose cone fixings. The toggle/screw is fixed into my frame brackets and the recepticle bit that it screws into(?) is in the the nose cone. The top ones are reversed, with the screw part being located on the nose cone. Is that clear!
Bricol
Sure mines the same - exactly as it came - different to what I expected but works fine - think I may have relieved the GRP to prevent wear of the chassis coating but thats about it. DAVID L
Anyone want to buy some special tools for undoing DZUZ fastners? These are made of a hard non rusting copper-based alloy. They are extremely good to look at with a different design on each side and are guaranteed to impress your fellow seveners as they show your attention to detail. I am happy to post these free of charge upon learning that a charge of £1 per item has been paid to NTL!
Nigel Riches
Mr Locost, the "S" shaped wire component is attached to the frame (chassis)with two rivets, and the quarter turn fasteners are mounted to the fibreglass nose cone, or perhaps things have been changed since 1982 when I bought mine, hope this has helped, Nigel. allen
David L, I used to source these Dzus turning tools from France at a cost of 20 centimes, but recently have had trouble finding them , do you have an ongoing supply? allen
