abbot
Im in France and yesterday i went out to buy an oil filter. After exhausting the Halfords equivalent muppets i ended up in a motor factors with 2 older guys who put a bit of time in and found me what i needed. The question is always the same, what car what year etc. so it could be very helpful to be able to give at least a couple of bits of info for road car that was fitted with a Crossflow. Any ideas
Stationary M25 Traveller
Certainly had a crossflow in my Mark II Ford Cortina 1.6 Super from 1970.

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted April 20, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted April 20, 2014 To me, as a Crossflow driver, the real lesson here is to support the independent motor factors where staff can do more than point you at an area of shelving. However searching for bits for the 21, for which the provenance is often unclear, is similarly frustrating.
Graham Perry
The Ford own brand EFL500 filter is usually the prefered filter among engine builders for the crossflow. I have used that filter for years and they will happily take very high pressures without failing. Its a very robust and well made filter. I fitted a new one only last year so it should still be available.
Wile7
From experience, apart from the anglia/escort/cortina/Capri/fiesta variants as stated already above, the French know the Taunus range (Ford Germany) which features on a lot of their micro-fiche 😬 Don't forget the commercials too (again, anglia and escort vans and early transits around mid 1970's which had 1.6 crossflow a in for a while). andy couchman
As long as it fits, is there much difference if you fit another filter? Don't know the answer... just asking! Andy
