OBD2 wireless

Decided to purchase this, sounds a very interesting tool, works wirelessly with all Smart Phones. Will do a review when it arrives.

I think I'm correct in saying that if you have a standard MBD ECU in your Seven, these OBD2 devices do not work. You need a special adapter cable only available from MBD (although I'm sure there's nothing special about it - do they deliberately swap over the Rx and Tx signals or something silly?)

What make of ECU does the K series have?

Rover MEMS 3 in your case (EU3) - works with a cheapo Chinese version of what you have bought and most other OBDII scanners so should be no problem.

The great thing about OBD2 of course is it works on nearly all modern cars, I'm interested to see what is says about my Jeep GC Diesel.

Have you decided what software to use? They seem to recommend iOBD2 but if you look at the user ratings in the version on the US App Store it's pretty discouraging.

 

As I wrote in another thread if someone can find a combination of hardware and software that reliably does what's needed there would be a lot of happy members.
