charlie_pank
Has anyone used kits like this: CHRA kit VNT kit any advice?
6speedmanual
Interesting to see these are available... But before grappling with siezed fixings and other bits and bobs found deficient which are not in the kit, I would give Turbo Technics in Northampton a call for a fully built reman unit. Let us know which way you go. Peter
Support Team c7trp Posted April 14, 2014 Support Team Share Posted April 14, 2014 No. I've rebuilt a couple of vnt units on VAG turbos and tbh only ever needed the odd bolt. The units I've worked on hadn't failed though, just vnt unit seized leading to over boost. Once apart they clean up pretty easily in my experience. charlie_pank
If it were just the VNT I'd be tempted to try the Mr Muscle method. But the turbo itself whistles a lot and has done 170,000 miles, so I figure it could do with a rebuild.
