glasgow
Going to fit a new exhaust guard (standard 6" to fit a K series 5" silencer). Would you just fix the brackets to the silencer with three jubilee clamps or you would also use a "glue/adhesive" between the brackets and the silencer (It looks as though there was some sort of "adhesive" between the old brackets and the silencer... or may be just my imagination..." Also any suggestions for stainless steel jubilee clamps? Thank you Ahmed
revilla
Pretty sure mine is just jubilee clipped directly onto the exhaust. I was looking at it with my Dad at the weekend as we were discussing fitting an exhaust guard to a kit car he has.
Roger Ford
No adhesive. Caterham used to sell suitable jubilee clips but I can't find them now.
Jonathan Kay
There's a supplier of long stainless clips in this thread or you can daisy-chain shorter ones. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 31 Mar 2014 16:30:
John Vine
I think this is the clip you need (x3). ETA: You can also get them here (excellent shop -- not far from me). JV Edited by - John Vine on 31 Mar 2014 16:50:

djg
Halfords sell ones that fit nicely. I had to get one ordered in as they only had 2 on the shelf but they do the job. Doug
Wrightpayne
Hi, I used a Sealey Universal Hose Clip set (JC972) from which you can make clips any size. Added advantage is when the rear one gets ground through (as they do sometimes 😬) you can simply make another. Kit comes with 8 screws and 3m of band. virden
Having clouted the bottom of my silencer on many occasions I have found that Jubilee clips can also be used to hold in place a discrete rubbing plate at the noise end of the box.
