Dunsfold Dave
Lamba sensor is really tight and I dont want to force it using mole grips (although I gave it a little go). I dont have a spanner large enough for the sensor. Its on a R500D and it looks like a 22mm. Before I pop out and buy the wrong spanner can anyone advise on what size it is? Jonathan Kay
Lots are 22mm. Can you see a serial number? Have you tried PlusGas, freezer spray and tightening it a bit first? Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 29 Mar 2014 18:54:
Stationary M25 Traveller
Big adjustable spanner ? Don't use mole grips
John Vine
The one on my R400D is 22mm, so I imagine yours will be the same. I use a big adjustable. Agree with JK's PlusGas tip. JV
Domus
Try tightening just a thou, then back and forth a little at a time. Sometimes works.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Leverage is your friend ...... longer spanner makes it easy.
Stationary M25 Traveller
You could also heat the socket quickly to get that to expand.
Bradders
If I were you I'd get a garage to do it. They have a special lamba wrench and a tool for cleaning the thread afterward to get the new sensor in. After severely strained forearms, its not something ill be doing again in a hurry.
