Guest
When I revved the engine the first time of starting the brake warning light came on. The LADS confirmed it was due to the brake fluid being low and so we topped it up and low and behold the light went out. However when I turned the engine over again this weekend and rolled the car down the steep drive, the light came on again. I checked the fluid level but to be honest I can't get anymore fluid in. Is it likely to be an issue with the car going down a steep drive and fluid getting onto the contacts inside the master cylinder?
sjmmarsh
I doubt it is the fluid on the contacts. How do the brakes feel? Firm or Spongy? Does pressing the centre of the cap help? Steve
Guest
I do still have spongy brakes and I plan to bleed them again tonight. Pressing the center cap doesn't help not does removing the two spade clips.
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted March 8, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted March 8, 2014 Andrew On later cars it also acts as a handbrake warning light. Is the handbrake on when it lights up???
Guest
Paul, Now that's a gem of a piece of information if that is what is happening. I have just been looking at the wiring and switch and the switch is very flimsy. The handbrake was on so I will go back after tea and take the handbrake off :) Fingers crossed. Guest
Paul, The switch / brake warning light is also the handbrake light 😳 Thank You. Andrew
