PizzaOvenKing
Hi all, Sorry to revisit an old thread... I have quick question, someone mentioned using a length of plastic tube to wrap the packing around and then sliding this over the exhaust centre pipe and bingo packing done! They mentioned using cling film to keep it in place...... I can't see that it would be possible to remove the cling film but I guess it would just shrink up and evaporate so no harm to leaving it on but wanted to check this assumption. Sounds like an easy job to do so long as the bolts come away ok. Thanks
Stationary M25 Traveller
Yes. Clingfilm remains in place. Plastic or cardboard tube doesn't !
Guest
It was me who used the plastic tube, it was the same outside diameter as the perforated tube. I wrapped the packing around the plastic tube then wrapped cling film around the outside of the packing to hold it together. With the plastic tube lined up with the perforated tube I could slide the packing from one to the other as it went into the can. The cling film burns off when the exhaust heats up, it stinks for a while at first!
GF04RCE
For noise reduction, powerspeed also do an insert that has very good results... not noticed any performance since it went in but others here will probably have a view.... David M
