Guest
I went throught this exercise a few months back and bought a pack from Screwfix. Think I got about 10 for < £10. I had to cut them down with a hacksaw to get the precise length I wanted.
SUPERLIGHT91
are the Screwfix ones Stainless or zinc coated mild steel? - at that price I suppose it doesn't matter so much
JonL
I got some super long ones from Halfords and cut them to length. They are stainless so should last a while.

SUPERLIGHT91
Thanks for that - I've just ordered 4 of those (3 for a new guard on my spare street-legal cat-pipe, and 1 for the broken on my race exahaust system - yes I know you don't need a guard on a race system, expecially on a k-series where the driver can't get burnt) I had actually bought a spare guard I was going to cut down and get powder -coated for my R500D before I sold it. Again - added weight/clutter, but I actually did burn myself a couple of times as driver on that without one on a high powered Duratec. (I still prefer the exhaust exiting out of the 'correct' side on the older 7s, its more balanced, and doesn't deafen the driver, unless you have a LHD car of course ;)
