F355GTS
Miles Best Flywheel is Caterham's own lightened item, Clutch on mine is an uprated AP Racing item again from Caterham Mark
Mick Day
If you get the bits from Caterham they should all fit, however if you source it yourself you will need to obtain a flywheel from the 1.6 as the larger 1.8 unit will not fit the Caterham bellhousing. Mick Day
Mr SlipperMan Know it all! However my engine is a 1.6 so we didn't end up down that blind alley. Merry Christmas Mick
Bricol
just a quick hijack - any idea what the differenc ebetween a 1400 and a 1600 K series flywheel are? Will one fit the other? Is it a good idea to do so if they will? Bri
scooby dooby doo
I *think* the pattern for the crank position sensor to look at in the flywheel is different between 1.4 and 1.6. One has twice as any marks so the ECU will think you're spinning at double speed, so it won't fire. HOOPY 500 kg R706KGU
Allen Payne
Bricol I believe Hoopy is right. A 1400 flywheel has two cutouts at 10 & 4 o'clock when viewed from the back with the crank dowel at the top. Regards Allen
CHRIS CLARK
..................unless it's a later 1400 when the pattern is like the 1600 ! To summarise:- What fits inside the Caterham bell housing? A 1400 or 1600 'K' flywheel. Number of tooth (missing) patterns for the crank trigger? There are 3.
