Guest
Morning, I was reading the many discussions about gearbox ratios last night and thought I would have a look at whether I had a 36G003A or 36G003C (short or standard) box. As it happens I have a B !!! Does anyone know what that means with regards final drive etc. I have a 3.91 Non LSD BMW Diff, 2,0L Duratec and 185/60/R14 Avon Guaranteed to Crash Tyres. Many Thanks Andrew
Guest
Not sure Andrew but I've just looked at my parts list and I too have a 'b' Anyone?
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted January 19, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted January 19, 2014 I think this is a standard Type 9 Gearbox with standard ratios. The B is to designate slight mods to nose enabling fit to Duratec (and Sigma?) bell housing and clutch arrangement. Diff ratio sounds fine. Sierra diff used with 5 speed box is 3.92 to 1 (very similar). 3.62 ratio diff is normally used when coupled to 6 speed box.
