Gregs79
Hi all, I am currently in the middle of building my Supersport R and have a been trying to locate the above in the kit. It appears that it is not there and I think Caterham are closed until the New Year Now! If I haven't got this I won't be able to install the engine and continue with my build! Blog link should be in my signature for anyone interested. Does anyone have on or suggest where I might be able to order one from somewhere open tomorrow (which may arrive after Christmas, but before New Year!) Thanks in advance. Wrightpayne
Gregs Most motor factors will have ready made earth straps. I've had cables made to order at a local battery supplier. Ian
TomB
Redline sell them, about a fiver I think. I bought one last month, and to ensure a good connection attached it directly to the block using a spare M12 drilling on it.
Wrightpayne
here Something like this but check length. Edited to say prob wouldn't use steel braided long term between engine and chassis as more likely to fracture IMHO Edited by - Wrightpayne on 22 Dec 2013 21:30:

simonpa
Halfords do the standard chunky wires as well. Make sure the tags on the end will take a big enough hole for the bolts at each end!
Gregs79
Contacted Caterham this monring and one is in the post. Thanks for all the quick responses. :-)
Gasmaninaseven
I would have thought you could put the engine in and add the earth strap later; no need to delay!
Nigel Riches
Don't be putting the engine in without suitable earthing. When i worked at an outfit which repaired vehicle instruments and also made speedo cables the number of times people would come in with a very frazzled speedo cable due to not having any other earth return after refitting their engines, and of course there where the choke (remember them) cables, clutch cables, probably also fried. Vehicle bodywork to the engine block connection and engine block to the battery negative connection, every time. Happy days, not. nigel
