Steve C
🙆🏻My fuel tank is leaking through the bottom rearward visible panel,it is a slight leak and only if pressed with a finger will fuel appear, almost as if it were pouros(spelling?). I guess it's a new tank job,but as my assembly manual is for the usual kit where it was supplied fitted I need to know if this can be done relatively easily and what hints you might have. It's for a live axle if there are any differences and how much are tanks anyway?I haven't dare phone Caterham yet! Not the warmest weather for unheated garage games, but I await your advice.Cheers. Playing the Lo-tech Hi-spec Weber music!
stevefoster
It's easiest to take off the Roll bar and pop it out through the top. Assuming the boot floor is out. The tank is held in place by two steel straps that bolt up together. I have heard some doing through the bottom but mine would not go that way. I am doing this job soon to change to an injection tank / pump... You can get tanks repaired but only after removing all the fumes. If your tank is not ali then I will have a very nice 5 year old ali tank (perfect nick) coming free soon.... /Steve My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Steve C
stevefoster,I'd be keen to give your Ali tank a home as mine is an '89 car and I suspect that it's probably had it! When are you expecting to do the work on your car? Playing the Lo-tech Hi-spec Weber music!
