revilla
Looking for the standard Caterham K Series (Wet Sump) dipstick, the one that is like the standard Rover dipstick only a bit shorter to suit the Caterham Sump. Stationary M25 Traveller
If that is the case .... perhaps a Rover one from breakers then cut the end off and grind a couple of notches in it for min and max ?
revilla
I guess I could do, but it's hard enough to see the level on the proper dipstick end anyway (even with the chalk-trick I was told about) so I'd prefer to get the real thing idf anyone out there has one. Cookie Monster
Check out PGM's website - they do one which is easier to use I believe - haven't got one myself yet but at the price it won't break the bank! www.pgmsussex.com Edited by - Cookie Monster on 14 Oct 2013 20:39:
revilla
Phil - Will give them a call thanks but the only dipsticks I can see on their website seem to be for the Apollo tank rather than the standard wet sump - or did I miss something? Stationary M25 Traveller
It's not for the Apollo tank .... but k-series engines that are fitted with an Apollo. Is the sump oil level the same with or without an AT .... with the engine running? Edited by - SM25T on 14 Oct 2013 20:59:
revilla
Ahh I understand - I don't have an Apollo but good question, if anyone has an answer it may be of some use to me after all. Thanks.
Cookie Monster
Sorry Andrew - assumed you'd got an apollo You'll be thinking I'm your stalker - BTW did you hear from Graeme?

Phil G
Dipstick in for sale section (assume it's for a K). PGM dipstick is for reading only IIRC not for permanent placement in tube.
revilla
I searched in For Sale and all that came up for "Dipstick" in the last 12 months was Fishy Dave's from back in April. I've already been in touch with him and it's unfortunately long gone. Have you spotted something that I haven't?
Phil G
No, sorry revilla that was the one. I'll read the whole thread next time. 🙆🏻
revilla
Nobody have one of these left over from a dry sump conversion?
revilla
Oh well ... for now I've made my own With a little care and a pair of pointy pliers, you can shorten a standard Rover dipstick by exactly the 12mm required to make it read correctly in a Caterham wet sump like this: http://revilla.dyndns.org/Public/DipstickConversion.jpg
