Wrightpayne
Found this on a bike forum... Use nail clippers to trim of the jagged edge left by side cutters! Just tried it and BINGO works brilliantly - saves me faffing about with a Stanley knife next to wiring loom, hoses etc in the engine bay and loads safer!! Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 13, 2013 Member Share Posted October 13, 2013 Sounds good. I was admonished at my post-build check for leaving little sharp ends and have subsequently used a soldering iron to smooth them after cutting. Nigel Fox
I've got a tool they tensions and cuts tie wraps off neatly in one go. Its particularly useful if you can't get both hands in. Have a search on eBay.

brookside2004
Ty-wraps with protruding cut-offs - a major BT quality failure on telephone exchange installations. Oh the fun of re-visiting 2000+ ty-wraps on ADSL installations to trim up the cut ends with side-cutters. A competitor, not us ! Tension cutters every time
