RedCat7
Any recommendations please? Loads on ebay but not easy to be sure which will fit. The brittle plastic ones it came with have snapped off.
I reply to every thread
If you mean the things with the two lugs then you can a couple of the ones kicking around my garage
Wrightpayne
I've some as well. Send a PM if Aves cannot find Ian
RedCat7
Thanks chaps but I'm not sure we mean the same thing. A photo here should help explain. I need to insulate the terminals before I accidentally lay a spanner down and short the battery! I guess I need something like this. Tricky to tell if they will fit though. I assume that most owners must have this problem sooner or later because the covers that come on the battery break so easily.
Stationary M25 Traveller
That's what Aves appears to be describing. Two little pins press into holes on the side of the battery.
mav
Never had the covers break on mine. The old ones pull off and the ones AVES has offered will be a direct replacement. I should also say it's bad practice to put spammers or toils on top of the battery for the very reason you state. mav
In fact I may have a spare set and am based close to Chester so would make sense for me to drop mine Off than AVES to post you some...
ChrisC
I filled out a web form on their website asking where I could get them, and they sent me some replacements free of charge from Germany :-) Chris.
RedCat7
Thanks all. Sorry I didn't realise that they were removable. The descriptions all make sense now I have got them off. I've cobbled together one out of the remains of what I had and some insulation tape. So for the time being I have the positive terminal safely covered here. Mav, I'm in Curzon Park which I believe is not your side of town. Will you be at Oulton on the 19th or at MADS meet this month? Cheers Jim
mav
Jim, most likely yes to all of the above, and I work on the business park just off the 483...
RedCat7
My bodge should up for the time being but if you are still happy to part with your spares Mav, I'll take them off you at Oulton please.
