Violet Elizabeth
People will start to think we are abusing the test area ... for non-testing things This was a test.
ewenm
The whole Bikeshed experience is a test to see how big we can get the Test forum. That should fox them
scooby dooby doo
ewenm - Its a perfectly valid form of testing - its called load testing. I did quite a bit of it in my old job. Barry should thank us for it 😬 HOOPY 500 kg R706KGU
ewenm
Hoopy - Was it your cheeky auto-posting program for the 100,000th post. If you can get it to select some random words it could really volume test while doing a new "Story" all by itself. Of course, the story wouldn't make much sense - no change there then 😳 Speaking of volume testing, I've currently got the joyous task of analysing a 150,000 row file for duplicates , hence so much time on Blatchat Edited by - ewenm on 5 Dec 2002 14:59:
mark4newman
I think we should have a ban on testing, during the winter months? Su77on Se7enS M100EOW....

scooby dooby doo
ewenm - surely that task is an easy one. few minutes of coding in perl, a loop in a loop and leave it overnight... or insert it into a table in the DB. if the table has a unique index on the field you want to check then it will complain if there's aduplicate. That'll only take a few minutes. I was on a training course when we passed 100k, so it wasn't me HOOPY 500 kg R706KGU
ewenm
Easier than that in the end - Textpad can open it, sort it and delete any duplicate rows so just did a row count before and after. Came back with no duplicates in the end (fortunately).
Alex Birtwisle
I think we should test on Hoopies ... Live ones at that 😬 Tomorrow night at the CAM7 Christmas bash I think some valid Hoop testing will be done .... I'll let you know the results at the weekend Any requests for interesting test to carry out on him 🤔 S713UMY 1.8K Viper Blue

Boonie Hound
As a Cambridgeshire boi - is there any precautions I should be taking to protect my home, loved ones and borrowed copy of Low-Flying while this dangerous procedure is taking place. Rachael
I would suggest that you take similar precautions as would usually be adopted if a severe tornado is expected Good Luck Rach
