Tim Carter
Dear Enthusiasts I was at a lotus 7 owners' event yesterday at Brands Hatch. The weather was appalling in the morning but better in the afternoon. Previously, in the hot weather, we had tried to use our 7 (2009 sigma 125) without "standard" side windows, but the buffeting was unbearable - I nearly lost my glasses! At the BH event I spotted a 7 with very nifty side windows, looking like 1950s quarter lights (on a Morris 1000 or Austin A30), with integral rear view mirrors, that I guess would mostly eliminate the buffeting. I tried to seek out the owner but without success. Does anyone know if/where these "quarter lights" can be sourced? Your assistance would be much appreciate. Many thanks in advance. paul jacobs
Tim, when you get them, you will be surprised at just how ineffective they are, but don't despair, get a hot air gun or a pan of boiling water and dip the lower curved section in and when malleable bend inwards, so that the deflectors stick out more into the airstream, and bingo, you will never need sidescreens again...........well.........almost never.
