Martin J
At some point once I can get motivated I am going to fit new rear discs & uprated mintex pads. I have done the fronts & am pleased with the results. Question...the large hub nut that you torque up to hold the hub on, is it reusable or is it a throwaway item & fit a new one each time? Pendennis
You are supposed to replace every time. However, I have reused and never had an issue
Stationary M25 Traveller
Don't forget one LH and one RH thread. I have 41mm socket if needed.
Martin J
Thanks I have my Dads old 3/4 drive monster socket set so ok for a 41mm socket but this time I also have access to a large torque wrench. I just stood on the end of a breaker bar when I originally built the car. 😳
ECR
Use Loctite on any you reuse ....
Jonathan Kay
Socket and wrench (but not giant torque wrench) sitting doing nothing in South Oxfordshire and always available to any member who needs to borrow them. Jonathan

Stationary M25 Traveller
Front castellated nuts should have split pins fitted. No need for loctite.
Martin J
Panic not Ian, new split pins were fitted. Only used a little loctite on 4 hex bolts securing disc to hub & the 2 bolts that hold the brake calliper in place. Copper grease used on pad rears. Now they have bedded in I am really pleased with how they feel.
Drumster
Martin, I'm pretty sure that you won't want Mintex 1144s in the rears as this will give too much rear bias. Do a search on here and get the Caterham blue spot (I think) rears.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Good news. Hope we get a chance to test them some more early next week

Martin J
offside is a right handed thread...clockwise to tighten nearside is a left handed thread, anti-clockwise to tighten.
steve m
I'm pretty sure the rear pads Martin has are not 1144.

Area Representative Richard Price Posted August 23, 2013 Area Representative Share Posted August 23, 2013 Quoting Aeroscreens: Martin, I'm pretty sure that you won't want Mintex 1144s in the rears as this will give too much rear bias. Do a search on here and get the Caterham blue spot (I think) rears. Yes. If you have 1144's in the front, 1144's in the rear will give too much rear bias (unless you have some method of controlling this).
