Often in France
☹️I have an 18 month old X-Trail that has done 15000 miles and recently developed a juddering when braking at low speed. The main dealer has checked it and said new discs and pads are required on the front. As these are not a warranty item they now want £350 to fit replacements. They apparently took photos and measurements which they sent to Nissan UK, but they have rejected any claim under warranty. I accept that discs & pads are consumables, but not at such a low mileage / young age. Does anyone have any experience / suggestions as to how I can pursue such a matter. Jonathan Kay
You have rights under the Sale of Goods Act that are independent of any warranty. You'd need to show that the goods weren't of satisfactory quality. There's an industry self-regulator called "Motor Codes": here are the FAQs for new cars. I'd also have a look at Honest John: there's often good advice there. Good luck Jonathan
