Misting Gauges

Recommended Posts

Two years ago I replaced my Caterham oil and water guages with SW mechanical versions. These have never ever misted up, but my std fuel guages does even in summer....Why? It doesn't clear even when have the lights on.

Wasn't there a modification for this where you drill some small holes through the top of the gauge to allow the internals to dry out?

Mine tend to steam up after driving in damp conditions but only when the lights are on as the bulb warms the air inside the gauge causing condensation.
