virden
Two years ago I replaced my Caterham oil and water guages with SW mechanical versions. These have never ever misted up, but my std fuel guages does even in summer....Why? It doesn't clear even when have the lights on.

Tom White
Wasn't there a modification for this where you drill some small holes through the top of the gauge to allow the internals to dry out? Mine tend to steam up after driving in damp conditions but only when the lights are on as the bulb warms the air inside the gauge causing condensation. Stationary M25 Traveller
Not a drill !! Use a small hacksaw blade to carefully cut through the shell of the gauge to allow a little airflow
Krismuss
Does that work ok Ian asi asked Andy Belcher and im sure he said not to bother. Chris
Stationary M25 Traveller
It means the air inside the gauges is at the same temperature as the outside. Thus no condensing on different temperature surfaces.
