Garth
Just about to embark on replacing my thermostat and realised I do not really know what I need to go between the plastic housing and the block! Does it have a built in seal like the plastic manifold - or does one need a gasket or some goo? Also I presume it is obvious how the thermostat is orientated! MattF
From memory, when I changed the thermostat on my Sigma engined Focus last year, there was a seal around the thermostat and a second seal that fits into the housing around the second housing inlet. Was no other gasket or goo. Regarding the orientation, I think i can only be fitted one way round but take note of where the bleed valve is. I think mine was at the top but not 100% sure. Garth
Thanks someone else told me that the plastic housing has an integral seal and the bleed valve is on top. I have two thermostats - one has a little non-return ball in the bleed hole and one is just a hole - tempted to use the one with just a hole?
