I did wonder given the look on your face if you owned a 7.

That was the end of an eventful week driving down the Route des Grande Alpes to the Med.

On top of the two accidents in 3 days ( see chit chat) where i was assailed by various french drivers the car had a fault with the coolant temp sensor (thanks to Oily for identifying the problem by phone) This meant that the ECU was receiving a false signal. The resultant over fuelling resulted in it running rough all the way from Monaco to Auxerre - using €300 of fuel at 100 miles per tank and averaging circa 11 miles to the gallon

 

After a nights rest in Auxerre - fire it up. Runs hellishly rough until up to temperature then decided to completely behave itself.

 

Note to self add an £8.10 spare sensor to the list of kit taken when touring and curse BMW - for it has their branding on it - for it failing.
