MereCat
Plugged laptop in to emerald this morning to adjust fan temp on map. All I got was could not see ecu and red light is on...any ideas? Sounds like more electrical gremlins... Thanks Paul
MereCat
Should also say have manual but can't find any troubleshooting guides and a look on history with BC gives me endless posts re Emerald....needle and haystack spring to mind Can you keyword search on BC? Paul Deslandes
You can keyword search using AND and OR statements. E.g. emerald AND fan AND setting. You don't have to use upper case. There are some guidance notes somewhere.
Rob Walker
Ignition needs to be on.
Englishmaninwales
Paul (Provided ignition is on!!) I had this and turned out to be a faulty ECU-PC connecting lead. If so don't buy a new one - Maplins sell the identical wire and easy to solder up a new one.
MereCat
Thanks Paul Rob ignition was on but unless I am going completely nuts ...which is plausible ...I am sure my green light was on when ignition on but engine not running.. The Lappy could not see the ecu. I played around with cable and then plug back in and hey hey it worked. Likely this, as deduced by Malcolm, although perhaps red light was always there until the engine was running...poss user error also Thanks for the replies ...all good and enough time out that day to get dehydrated 😳 Lesson there for everyone ...drink plenty of fluids of the non alcoholic variety when having fun in the sun
oilyhands
The red light is on when the EVU is powered up and the engine not spinning. When the engine is cranked and the EVU sees a valid crank pattern then the green light comes on. Oily
