Blokko
Last weekend I ordered some replacement windscreen wipers from Caterham for my new purchase (an SV). When the products arrived they were marked up as CSR / SV, so I removed them from the packaging and set off to the garage. I then found that the supplied blades were about 210mm long, whereas the ones already on there are about 270mm. So, is this a case of the blades being labelled up incorrectly, or is there a separate supplier / source / part for the longer blades?
Stationary M25 Traveller
Bought my SV blades from Redline .... probably six years ago now !!
mav
Last time I changed mine I needed to trim to length. Sounds like they sent the wrong ones, despite the labelling...
Blokko
Will try to find time to give Caterham a call tomorrow. Hopefully it was just a mis-labeled part and they can send me some longer blades out....
mav
The SV and s3 items do have different part numbers on the website. For the avoidance of doubt you need part 50V003A

Dr Slotter
To add to the confusion, the particular set of wiper arm installation/bendiness parameters on my car mean that the SV sized blades fit driver side perfectly but are 1" to long for the passenger side... Alan Reeves
Yes but 111 or sv
Stationary M25 Traveller
On my SV, the blades are 210mm long ..... 95mm on the inside of the pivot and 115mm outside. Could be 10mm longer on the outside edge.
Alan Reeves
Its getting interesting...without going back tonight i might say i could take 10 mm on the lower side of the blade
Blokko
Wondering whether these wiper blades have been sourced from somewhere other than Caterham then (given the big discrepancy in size)? Will drop a note to the original owner of the car to see if he can shed any light on this....
BigCol
Interestingly, the chap from VOSA nearly failed my SV on its IVA as the wiper blades sweep patterns didn't overlap enough leaving an unacceptable unswept section in the centre of the screen. He was OK with me removing/refitting the arms so the unswept section was much smaller but both of us commented that longer blades would have meant no issues. Blokko
Call to CC parts confirms that 210mm is the correct size for a blade on a CSR / SV. Email sent out to original owner of the car - maybe he can shed some light on the situation....
