SUPERLIGHT91
Wanted K-Series Dry sump (complete kit) new or used - I suppose with or without an engine, but need the complete dry sump kit for an 1800K series

SUPERLIGHT91
Kind of you Jack thanks, but I'm holding out for a 'complete' kit as there are so many components to it, I missed an engine with dry sump fitted for £600 a few months ago, and that would be ideal (Caterham want £2k to put the kit togehter new, and for £600-£1000 its worth stripping it off a damaged engine and seeing what else I can salvage to build up a shelf of spares to keep the K going into the future)
AndrewGP
I spoke to Caterham last week about the K series dry sump kit as it's my top job for this winter. They said they could still do the kit for £1500 though, so I'm confused that they told you it would be £2k. Maybe we should seek some clarification on the pricing? SUPERLIGHT91
I recall when the kit was under £1000 from Caterham 10 years ago. I started looking into it again Jan 2012 when my car went into them for some work and was quoted £2k+fitting+VAT for the complete kit. Its not urgent though and I doubt I'd buy new (even at £1500+), so just playing a waiting game to find someone scrapping a complete K-series engine with the whole kit on it and I'll strip and covert as a winter project as/when I find someone. AndrewGP
OK, makes sense. I'm happy to pay £1500 for the CC one but not £2k, I'd rather go for the Pace one at that sort of figure. Good luck
Racingshoe
If you can wait until winter, I am selling my 200hp K dry sumped engine. I had someone interested on Pistonheads, and they only wanted the engine without the dry-sump kit. I could be splitting it come the winter. 7 wonders of the world
Go for the Pace kit, with a normal tank on a short passenger footwell - job done
SUPERLIGHT91
Racingshoe's offers sounds a good one, and I will indeed checkout the Pace kit in the mean time, and drop him a line as I'm in no hurry, its just another job on the list.
dreamer_uk75
I have a dry sump from a 1600 K that I'm selling - not sure if it would fit the 1800 (I'm fairly non-technical!) Jo
SUPERLIGHT91
I think it should fit a 1.8 - could you let me know what you have parts-wise - as its quite a complex complete kit with a lot of parts, and whether its the Caterham kit or aftermarket.
