Lost Boy
Have a 1.8k series Supersport and still have the standard original foam air filter from the first build, any ideas whether I should be replacing/upgrading or maintaining in some way? Thanks

mav
Replacement every 12 k is probably excessive. Give it a good clean and re-oil it
willmac
I've got a K&N filter which is no longer required. It only did about 2K miles on my old car. Drop me a BM if your interested

Ozzy
I think you can get a bit carried away with this. I assume you've got the foam one, which is a bit different to the others! I just washed mine in a bowl of fairy liquid, rinsed it squeezed it umpteen times, left it to dry overnight. Sprayed a little light engineering oil around the outside, fitted it. Worked fine for me, and cost nothing! Oz.
