revilla
I've got myself a pair of Ratchet Crimp Pliers and I'm mystified to find that the jaws have different profiles on either side, one side like this (circles with side bars like a London Underground sign) and the other side like this (pointy ellipse, the same kind of profile as on a cheap pair of Draper non-ratchet crimpers). Please excuse the numpty question but what are the two sides used for and why are they different? When should I use one and when should I use the other? Thanks. CharlesElliott
The two sides are crimping different parts of the connector. On a coloured crimp connector, there is a thinner part which the bare wire goes into, and then a wider part that has the wire/insulation in.
