Wiper Motor problem

Build nearly finished and sorting out minor electrical glitches.

 

First time of use the wiper motor gave a loud clunk and has not shown any life since. I am assuming power must be getting to it. Do the motors jam? Does it have a 'direction' with the connections-ie could be fitted or wired the wrong way round? Access to the motor is a real pain to fix these items.

 

Any ideas appreciated.

Bruce,

 

Did you ahve the scuttle on and wipers in place. If so stick you head under and make sure nothing is blocking the wiper arms. And then move them back manually to make sure they want to go in the correct direction, and can do so unhindered.

 

Apologies if this is something obvious that you have already done.

I did not put the wipers onto the spindles as I was worried that they were not already in the 'park' position. I guess that I could attach one and see if it can turn the motor manually-good idea.
