Old Septimus
I'm looking for a recon kit for the above (Girling part no) or a new cylinder. It's off my 68 S3 and probably originated from a Mk1 or 2 Cortina. Local factors and Redline very helpful but cannot locate one. Any ideas? JAG
Hi, I have checked out your part number, 64068397, and it's a 'slave cylinder' 0.875" diameter (22.2mm). I have the old parts list and assembly drawings but I need to speak to the Lucas Aftermarket boys and they've all gone home for the night. I will ring them tomorrow morning and will post any info I get. JAG

JAG
Septimus, I have now spoken with the relevant people. The original slave cylinder is no longer available but we have a repair kit. The part No is SP2085 and it should be available from any Lucas Service centre for £2.25+vat The best news is that I will have one for you within the next two or three days and it's FREE 😬 😬Email me your address and I will post the kit to you. It includes; dust cover, circlip, piston seal, bleedscrew cap and a quantity of grease plus fitting instructions. I am advised that you should check that the bore isn't scored before you fit these parts. JAG
Old Septimus
JAG, I have mailed you - thanks again. Mark, I will chase this up because a spare for a rainy day may be prudent. I can put it on the shelf with the six(!) sets of A frame central bushes I have accumulated over the years and the other odds and sods.
