jackb_ms Posted May 5, 2013 Share Posted May 5, 2013 Hello All I was upgrading my K from a purple to a gold pump system, when I realise the scavenge pipe for the gold pump is 1inch vs 3/4 inch So I need theHi Line Pipe / Bracket Adaptor - Dry Sump - Rover which Caterham has been out of stock for a while. 1) Is there an alternative to that part? 2) good or bad idea to use the 1inch pipe and "squeeze" it using jubilee clip to fit on the 3/4 inch outlet? 3) Any other ideas welcome Jack Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted May 6, 2013 Leadership Team Share Posted May 6, 2013 As a temporary fix it would be better to use a hose reducer rather than squeezing the 1" hose to fit ..... but this would mean cutting the new 1" hose which you may not want to do. Whatever "fix" you decide on remember the scavenge pump will suck air in preference to oil if air is available - make sure you have absolutely no leaks in the solution/join you make.
