Barbarossa.
My car developed a misfire today - standard 1600 K-Series. This morning, there were a couple of pops from the exhaust on overrun. This evening, it was difficult to start and wouldn't idle and misfire below 3000rpm. Plugs are clean, but smells very rich at idle. Any thoughts? jingars
A recent thread for a similar issue had disconnection of the lambda sensor as a diagnostic step; if that sorts it then you need a new lambda sensor. I had similar symptoms on my non lambda sensored K, which was finally resolved by re-wiring the throttle position sensor directly to the MEMS and giving it it's own earth wire. Temp sensor is another potential culprit, another less likely one could be your crank position sensor. It would appear you just have to knock 'em down one by one. Roger Ford
If you do need a new lambda sensor, don't buy it from CC! You can get them very much cheaper on ebay - like this one for example.
Barbarossa.
Did wonder about the lambda sensor, I'll give it a try.
Bradders
Roger. When mine needed changing I phoned CC to check the part number and flatly told me that they didn't have one in stock for at least two weeks, and "errr herm you may be able to get them cheaper elewhere err *cough ebay cough*"
Stationary M25 Traveller
Mine did this last week. Unplugged the lambda sensor, at the connector in the cable, and it returned to health. Fitted a spare and all ok. Do also try the TPS reset in case that affects the idle. Ignition on (don't start the engine). Push thtottle to end stop and release fully ... five times. Ignition off.
