grahamholdstock Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Good morning hoping for a bit of guidance please. Have my 1.6k engine on table in garage having just replaced rear crank oil seal. That job is done. Engine is due cam belt and tensioner and am hoping to fit 633 cams and verniers while it is out. However when removing the crank pulley the bolt/washer was siezed on the pulley and twisted the pulley at the moment of loosening. This resulted in the little D shaped lug that locates the pulley on the timing gear breaking off as the pulley moved. So now need a new crank timing gear. Question is ---is that going to be easy to replace? Does it need any special procedure etc Any assistance much appreciated Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Englishmaninwales Posted March 17, 2013 Share Posted March 17, 2013 Easy, I have a spare used one somewhere, or new from Rimmer Bros. Edited to add it will just pull off when you have taken the tenion off the blet. Just make sure you have not damaged its seat on the end of the crank.
