Willie.
As title, I'm after 4No. 7/16" UNF screws with a nice button head (Domed with allen key fitting) with at least 3/4" long thread. Ideally high tensile, but not critcal. Anyone a fastener supplier or able to help? Thanks, Willie

David Mirylees
7/16" UNF Socket Button Head Screw Should be available from local fastener companies but a quick google came up with this? Quick link Hope that at least the description helps
Willie.
Thanks guys. I've mailed Namrick and will give them a ring tomorrow if they don't come back first. Thanks for clarifying the proper title as now I know what to ask for. The link above is for No.6 x 7/16", which is a tiny wee screw 7/16" in length rather than diamater. Unfortunately they don't do the bigger ones, and googling turns up similar results; can't find them over 1/2" diameter. I thought I'd be able to find some online handy enough, but might have to resort to ringing around local guys. Was trying to avoid it as they hate small orders for oddball things and usually get you over "Yeh, sure we have plenty" to offer you something completely different. Roger Ford
I think you're going to struggle to find button head bolts that size. Triden Racing Supplies have the widest range I know, and they only stock cap and hex head in 7/16th. Unless Namrick can get them to order, I doubt you'll have any luck there either. Any particular reason you can't use cap head? Is it just aesthetics?
Barbarossa.
The Unbrako catalogue lists button heads up to 3/4" so they should be available.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Do you want black, or something pretty ? We have a good local supplier that can do singles. Happy to call them for you.
Willie.
Black would be fine, any finish would be fine. If you were able to find some Ian, I'd be super grateful. It's for the front roll cage mounts on a roadsport cage. The boss in the chassis is threaded, so I want to put a pretty screw in from each side. It's purely for asthetics as the original ignorant hex head screw and nut really annoyed me. If I can't get them, I can get countersunk ones, and then I'll just have to turn up deep washers with a countersunk face. Will ring Namrick now and see what they say. Thanks for the help, really would like the button heads if possible.

Stationary M25 Traveller
First place only had 1" long hex head. Have asked two more now ...
Ozzy
Will stainless do? www.stainlessman.co.uk He does everything in imperial sizes. I got some nice dome heads for my wings from him. Might be worth a phone call, as he may be able to get them in various materials. Oz.
Roger Ford
He does everything in imperial sizes Including button heads. But only up to 5/16ths, according to the website.
Willie.
Just rang him, unfortunately he doesn't have any. I've run our local fasteners shops and no go there, nobody has much bigger than 1/4". Pah. I could get the ones from Jonathan's link, at that price they'd need to be polished titanium. Bound to be somewhere that does them; I'll just need to keep hunting and maybe look at places based in the 'States.

Willie.
Super Ian, thanks very much. Not cheap, but apparantly very rare. I'd like to go for them. Could you give me their name and I'll give them a ring, or how would you prefer to go for them? Serious thanks for the help.

Trotsky
Its unbelievable, there I was with the same problem and lo and behold a quick visit to Blat chat and most questions answered, is Stainless OK as roll cage bolts, is it as strong as normal HT steel?, while looking at fastenings on one suppliers site there was a red letter warning re using stainless in places designed for HT? Stationary M25 Traveller
The ones I found are black, not stainless.
Roger Ford
No, stainless definitely not as strong as HT, so I wouldn't use them for rollcage bolts.
Trotsky
Thanks Roger thats put that to bed then, I gave Nick a call at MBE Fasteners, he was surprised at some one else wanting similar bolts and thought I must be Willie, his bolts are on there way to me now 😬 only joking, hes trying to source me some more , his supplier was only showing 6 in stock, and willie got 4 of em Nick didnt even know that size existed! he's trying for 4 but doesnt sound hopefull, ill take 2 and use them on the inside and normal bolts for the outside.
