Fan switch actuation temperature?

Who cares

So long as the engine is clearly not overheating, and it is running well, whats the problem 🤔

As myself and others have said, the temperatures gauges are not scientific instruments, and neither is the fan sensor, so why get hung up on what the gauge says and when the fan cuts in 🤔

I know my gauge reads anywhere between 80 and 85ish deg C. I also know if I leave it ticking over on the drive the fan cuts in well before the red. No problem *thumbup*

It was important to me as I changed from a switch in the radiator to an ECU controlled fan so needed to know what to set the software to to put the fan on and off. Chose 95 on and 90 off in the end and it all behaves much as before.

Note that this is using the probe by the thermostat rather than temp in the radiator. I guess that by this sort of temp the stat is fully open so the two behave similarly.
