Englishmaninwales
Yup! Not before time too. Considering all the utter b@llox spouted on the Uphill Racers forum last year about modifications to the bank ruining the heritage of Shelsley, I'm glad they have now done the right thing. You never know, Richard, they may even find your 'missing' wheel and hub assembly 😬 Malcolm
robmar
so are we now saying we took a premature decision to stop going there 🤔
Simon.Rogers1
No As I was told they were only re profiling the bank and adding 1 tyre to the top. I'm not as convinced as you guys seem to be by the pictures. They seem to have extended the height a little up the hill but those pictures do not show where Richard or Ian left the hill. They were much further up. That banking was on the apex. I have not seen anyone go off there. I'd like to see more pictures first.
Andrew Willoughby
Common sense has prevailed . I love Shelsley but had ruled out ever competing there again. Might well consider it again now ... Andrew
Area Representative Richard Price Posted February 18, 2013 Area Representative Share Posted February 18, 2013 Like Simon, I'd like to see the changes before considering whether to compete at Shelsley again on not. I think I would have preferred to have seen Armco or sleepers rather than tyres. I think there is the potential to dig in and spin violently with tyres rather than glance off the former (both destructive, but not as destructive as my off!) However, anything that prevents you being launched over the bank is an improvement…..
