MOT emissions nightmare!

2 bl##dy hours for an MOT!!

 

typically, it was the twisted emissions reg's that caused all my problems...

 

the mot handbooks says one thing - the mot technical(ity) support staff say another - and caterham say something different again.

 

so after much humming, hawing, reading, re-reading and numerous phone calls, the elusive "kit cars are exempt" phrase is finally located (thanks to caterham service dept) and my car passes with flying colours,full marks and a gold star 25mins later.

 

For anyone else about to embark on possible MOT hell, please note that as of the JUNE 2002 EDITION of the mot testers handbook, the magical words can be found in SECTION 7.3, PAGE 9 in the box in the b/r/h corner.

Glad it was sorted.

Find a garage that knows it's kit car stuff.

In Berkshire/Surrey area, West end serv station in Old Windsor is excellent and very 7 friendly!

They are real enthusiasts and treat the car with the respect and love it deserves.
