Ivaan
Is there a particular cage for a LA installation? Who would have made them? Arch?
Matthew Willoughby
There was a specific live axle cage made by Safety Devices back when academy cars were live axle. They haven't made any for years. I think there are a few one-offs in existence too.
Ivaan
Cheers Matthew - interesting information. Any ideas of the years involved?
Matthew Willoughby
A cage was first made an option for the 2000 Academy (they all had FIA bars before that) but only a few opted for it. Most Safety Devices cages would have been made for ex- academy/scholarship cars being used in the Graduates race series between approx. 2000 and 2002. Much after that they will have been special order only, although there would have been a few live axle SLR style cages made for Fireblades, mostly around 2002/'03 at a guess.
