Mad Hatter
Can anyone tell the the size of Dzus Fastener used to secure the nosecone ?
John Vine
IIRC (without popping out to the garage) there are two sizes: long for the top mounts and short for the bottom. Which would you like (or both)? JV
Mad Hatter
Both please JV
John Vine
I had time to pop out to the garage while Mrs V was adding the final touches to the pork joint 🥰... Measurements in mm with a vernier caliper: Top OS/NS: Head diam: 15.9/15.8 Shaft diam: 7.9/7.9 Length: 17.2/21.0 Bottom OS/NS: Head diam: 15.8/15.8 Shaft diam: 7.9/7.9 Length: 21.3/17.4 But now I'm truly confused as I seem to have mixed pairs top and bottom . I've no idea whether this is normal or an assembly error. The car is a 2008 S3 metric, but the nosecone is a Millwood-supplied 2010 item (after an argument with a grassy bank). rj
Quoting Paul Richards: Carbon fibre nosecone or glass fibre - makes a difference. Doubt so. You use the same bonnet, don't you? Hence the outer shape is the same.
