Willie.
Hi all, I had previously advertised this, and it was sold subject to payment, however it has now become unclear wether it is a 22% or 8% rack, and as the buyer is expressly after a 22%, he has understandably withdrawn. I believed it to be a 22% (Which is why I bought it in the first place), however I have measured it using a protractor and have established that it is 1.875 turns lock to lock. My old 8% had over 2 turns lock to lock, however it is generally accepted that 22% racks have 1.75, and so this particular rack is slightly over the stated 22% figure. Not the best sales pitch in the world, but being as honest as I can be. It could be either of the quick racks, 8 or 22%. It is green bodied and for widetrack suspension. I am asking £100. Willie.
I have been contacted privately by a club member with a 22% rack who was willing to measure his. As his is just over 1 and a half turns lock to lock, it would appear that my rack is not a 22%, but the 8% rack.
Mark-G
Can I register interest for a friend please as I know he may be after a quick rack Thanks Mark
Willie.
Certainly Mark, you have first dibs; let me know. Please take it to be an 8% rack, as all evidence points to it being an 8%. Willie
Lee Fowler
Think you will find that a 8% rack is over 2 turns lock to lock. Lee
7 wonders of the world
The lock to lock varies depending upon wether the rack is for a cycle wing or clam car, cycle wing versions offer less lock in order to reduce the posibiltiy of fouling, this is obtain by rack limiters usually a 2 peice coller which can easily be removed. Damdy-Cash
I think ist a 22% here cheers Volker
EFA
This is all wrong. There is no widetrack rack for clamshell wing cars, as it is not a model produced by Caterham. All 22% racks are 1.75 turns Lock to Lock. Anything not 1.75 turns Lock to Lock is not a 22% rack.
7 wonders of the world
Sorry missed the widetrack part..........
Willie.
Mark's mate has decided to pass, so this is still available. As per above posts, there are all kinds of doubts and opinions, so please assume it to be an 8% rack and if it turns out to be a 22% then it's a bonus.
