smurfy
Ok guys which round nose release bearing can I use on a Quartermaster clutch (flat springs you see). I intend to keep the cable operation so I need to choose carefully. Any ideas,,, have you already done it ? Oh VX engine Ford / Quaife box. Peter Carmichael
You need to go to a Saab dealer and get a carrier made up to suit.
John Howe
I dumped the base of the Saab bearing, ground the underside to size and JB welded it to the face of the original trust bearing. Roger King
We use part number HD3259 on AP 71/4" clutches. This will probably suit the Quartermaster too, but you will need to make an adaptor so that it will fit to the original carrier - not difficult, but depends on the dimensions of the clutch you are using, so I can't produce an off the shelf drawing for you. captain chaos
Alex and I used a carrier that burton power sell for about 20 quid. The system that Alex and Marius (i think) and i used mean't that the bearing was always in contact with the clutch face. This has worked perfectly for Alex but I had problems so I've gone over to a hydraulic unit. The bearing John has quoted is the one we were using. smurfy
Alex Thanks for the PM response, I think I now have a solution in the shape of a Ford motorsport part that has had a small amount turned off to accept the correct bearing. I will try it out and come back to you if not successful.
