ECR
I've been asked to help replacing the sump foam in a K (Yes, neither would I but it's not my decision!). Does the K have a sump gasket and does it need replacing ?
CharlesElliott
Yes and probably not. I re-use mine (sometimes). If it does, then look here.
Stationary M25 Traveller
It is a very tough gasket that can be reused over and over again. Just make sure it doesn't stick to either surface and get bent as you remove it.
john milner
I've had my sump off three times with the same gasket and no leaks.

Wrightpayne
Do the DVA gasket mod - 2 10mm holes on the ledge just inside of the mating face. It will be obvious when it's apart and dumps a cup full of oil everywhere!! Ian
oldbutnotslow
They are £47 to buy new and if reused the can leak. It depends upon how clean you can get it . Carb cleaner works well. Of course you dont need a gasket at all. Just use an anaerobic sealant and fit metal to metal. Grant
Mankee
I bought a new one from CC recently and it came in a normal jiffy bag and was bent at one end! Rang up about it and was assured that it'll be fine, so drilled the holes (went for 3, ooh risky), binned the foam, slapped it on and am hoping for no leaks. That was before I started using Redline for most of my bits now. Grant, what's the effect of fitting the sump without a gasket and not having the "shelf" in place? TonyR
Link to photo of gasket mod here Gaskets are normally reusable and no need for the foam anymore. Tonyr
