Phil G Posted October 28, 2012 Share Posted October 28, 2012 The common assertion is that a bolt is partially threaded and a screw has the thread all the way to the head. I have always used the term bolt for a fixing which requires a nut to hold said items (drilled with clearance holes) together, whereas a screw tightens into a threaded hole; however, even this is open to debate because bolts are often used for the latter. On the radius arm, I would assume it’s a Hex Headed bolt. Do you want plain or plated? Zinc plated would give greater corrosion resistance obviously.
