McBreadhead
Basic non-vacuum, possibly ex-dental or veterinary would suit.

DaveMorris
If you don't need certification with it - then one option is to go talk to your local dentist, find out who maintains their autoclaves, and then go talk to them. They may point you in th edirection of one which is being "retired" as no longer certifiable. ALternatively keep searching on e-bay. It's surprising what comes up. BUT - if you do need certification then be careful, manufactureres aren't too keen on people picking up cheap second hand claves that they have not refurbished/supplied/made a good profit from. They will sting you for a service, a thorough check and then certification. Can be upwards of £300 for this.
McBreadhead
Dave, Hi mate how are you? Yes the servicing costs for some dentists equipment can get to the point where it is often better for them to junk an old unit in favour of a new one with warranty. So we are hoping we find a friendly dentist who is chucking one out! It's for a tatooist studio and I understand regular service with callibration is not required. Paul McKenzie
Why not just use a pressure cooker - that's what we used for small scale Microbiology lab. sterilisation, when you didn't need to use the big autoclaves. Paul
Mick Day
Try these people: Steve Harris, Autoclave Services & Repairs Ltd. I used to use Steve for service/maintenance before retiring. He often has low usage autoclaves (Little Sister etc) retired from health authority/ PCT clinics. However be warned your tattooist will need to comply with all the H & S regs that every other health care provider has to abide by. Autoclaves are also inherently unreliable (mixing water & electrics always is) so a maintenance contract is a sensible option.
