keybaud
The Jenvey angled DCOE i let manifold places the throttle bodies too low to be able to fit the bonnet on with air horns, so I'm looking at changing it for a straight one.
EFA
A straight one will not fit your car as it will foul the top chassis rail. Do you mean a Caterham S shaped one - fits, but robs power? Hard to find these days too.
keybaud
The angled manifold that places the throttle bodies horizontal is no use, as the air horns have about 1mm clearance with the chassis, so I can't fit the bonnet on. The Caterham one, which was with the 48mm Webers, places the carb air horns slightly higher, so I guess they aren't the same shape. Won't a straight inlet manifold make the parrallel throttle bodies fit like a set of direct to head ones? i.e. They'll be clear of the chassis, but I'll have to extend the hole in the bonnet. EFA
So when you mean straight, you mean perpendicular to the head face? Carbs only work when horizontal, so you wont get a DCOE style manifold of that type. The Caterham manifold is what you need. Ran on carbs (45's and 48's) on HPC and VX Race cars and DCOE throttle bodies (Weber Alpha) on the JPE. This will give you the clearance you need, but the manifolds are hard to find. keybaud
That's the manifold I had with the carbs, but it didn't have a cut-out/groove for the injection, so I bought an injection manifold. This is the straight manifold that Jenvey make: http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/manifold/jenvey-dynamics/manifold-vx-opel-xe-tb45-0-mv05
EFA
Heres a pic of the Caterham manifold so you can see how it raises the carbs: http://www.the-webbs.com/carbs.jpg

I'll have a look at it next weekend. I've also dropped Omex an email to see if they'll let me swap the 'new' manifold for a straight one.
