Ian B
. . to cut a padlock with a hoop about 12mm thick? There's thousands on ebay and I've no idea! 😳
Stationary M25 Traveller
Angle grinder with a steel cutting disc ? That's quite a chunky bit of hardened steel - can you get at it, or is it shrouded ? Is this a new night time occupation you have ? Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 20, 2012 Member Share Posted August 20, 2012 As above: angle grinder. Any connection to the thread on parking on other people's property? Jonathan
Ian B
😬 no connection! However, didn't want to make a meal of it (or a lot of noise ), and no it's not what you're all thinking
Stationary M25 Traveller
I bet the Kentish Weald AR carries a big set in his new DiD-wagon 😬
peterg
You'll need some big cutters to get through 12mm, I have some cutters that are about 18in long and they were a struggle to get through an 8mm padlock (2-3 minutes of heaving and moving around the cut), next time I used a cordless angle grinder and it took about 8 seconds
jj48
I'll have ta dig the tarmac out of the way first ta get at 'em. Can do estimate for black side up whilst there. Richard
Z3MCJez
Usually it's easier to cut the padlock than the hoop. Â Jez
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 20, 2012 Member Share Posted August 20, 2012 If you can't find metric bolt cutters then 15/32" Imperial is very close. Jonathan Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 20 Aug 2012 17:44:
