I crossed them over. Obviously I hope the arrangement is not put to seroius test but bruising is, probably, preferable to degloving. In the non-crossed setup they do run 'down the side of the inner thigh' better, while when crossed over they are directly over the crown jewels... but the fitting is somehow a tad more comfortable???
