7 wonders of the world Posted August 9, 2012 Share Posted August 9, 2012 Hey Pat, You ideally need rubber grease as this will stay in place post assembly and aid operation, washing up liquid will aid assembly but will wash out, it also contains salt too which is not ideal, thus leaving the metal to rubber interface squeaky and in effect building in parasitic stiction - something best avoided.
