Stationary M25 Traveller
Did it collect a stone on the road ?
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted August 7, 2012 Author Area Representative Share Posted August 7, 2012 I think something heavier or less movable than a stone. My opinion was that it was a roadhump . But it is too late now, I thought I took it gently but may have caught it at the wrong angle.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Is that the lowest point on a 21 then ? Sure if I hit that bit on the 7, I would have a lot more problems to worry about !
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted August 7, 2012 Author Area Representative Share Posted August 7, 2012 Ian, I'll have to dig out a photo but I have no reason to suppose that it is different from a Seven (apart from the under-car panelling). It must have been the edge of something. Edited by - Golf Juliet Tango on 7 Aug 2012 12:25:
Mick Day
Pah that's nothing. I remember seeing just the stub of the oil filter housing left . Oil filter gone the whole lot. Not my car & not too sure how they did it.
Kevsta
GJT, do you have a replacement? I might have one somewhere if you need. Kev

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted August 7, 2012 Author Area Representative Share Posted August 7, 2012 Mick - either way you soon loose a lot of oil. Kevsta: new one in place already but thank you. RJ and Oliver: almost certainly, bits of metal in the sump. Scrape/gouge on one corner of the sump. However, it was only the final problem on the 21. (cue all the jokes which have gone through my mind already. I know these cars are jinxed and D21P's car and mine are twins). Relay failures have meant that the starting has been erratic, temperamental and unpredictable since December. Windscreen wiper motor has failed. henry21p
This is why I fully refurbished my car when I had the body done and put shiny new bits and updated electrics on it ;-) I fitted a remote ops just to ensure mine didn't hang down to be hit by stones too....
